Purchased in 2007 as a hole-in-the-wall coffee and pastry spot called Aspen Perk Coffee House, soon reinvented into what we know as Aspen Perk Cafe.
Owner Paula Nesbitt purchased the coffee shop in 2007 with hopes to provide the community with a homey feel to coffee and pastry. She began building a rapport with the community. Quickly gaining the best cup of coffee trademark in the local area. There was a room used to hold all the small town meetings and Kiwanis. She also sold small gifts and knick knacks out of the lobby area. With the wholesome atmosphere and quality coffee the middle school students started gathering there after school for fun after school activities. She had checkerboard tables to keep everyone entertained while sipping their favorite beverages. Paula decided she could do more, she wanted to expand…
In 2008 she built walls for the kitchen and took down walls for the dinning room. She decided the community needed a breakfast restaurant, at the time there wasn’t any breakfast restaurants in the area. Changed the sign from Coffee House to Cafe. Subtle change but meaningful. Thus Aspen Perk Cafe was born. They had a full breakfast menu and some sandwiches for lunch. They created menu items that they would soon keep till even now, much like the Flying J Burrito and Drag It Through The Garden Omelette. On the old menu they had an affinity of naming their food after local landmarks. A very extensive coffee list as well. After receiving so much support from the community, with time she grew out of that hole-in-the-wall spot in Aspen Park.
Family owned and operated with unmatched service, food and atmosphere since 2007. The resilience and continuous effort took them to where they are now. Thirteen years later they are still the best breakfast place in the conifer area.
